LAVAKI FAMILY #2....

I was finishing my editing tonight and REALLY...I was feeling sad that everyone was going to miss out on seeing some of these pictures. Then I realized it's my BLOG and I can do what I want. Soooo to all my wonderful BLOG family, enjoy a few more, just for fun! I try to save my stylized editing for the end of my batch. It makes me push my creativity. I can get pretty crazy, but I try to keep it under control.

Now I need to go to bed. Often the strange grammar structure and misspelled words you are all subjected to, are a product of my late night editing...I usually reread in the morning, to my embarrassment and fix them, but sometimes it's 2pm, and I need to face the fact that ever since the 4th grade Spelling B, first round elimination...I've never put a whole lot of stock into spelling.  I'm just a plain ol' bad speller.  I'm sure it says something about me on some level, but WHATEVER.....I'm a no spelling, fast talking, night owl and I give you all (Ya'll...it's sooo  very late..that a ya'll seems appropriate) credit for being forgiving and generous towards me when it comes to my proverbial Achilles heel.  Because you KNOW I Heart YA'll.  OXxXOXoxox

Friends and Family, if you would like to purchase prints of any of my shoots, you can click on the $BUY$ YOUR PICS icon, and make your order. Accounts are password protected but are usually something pretty simple that a friend would know. If you do not know please contact your friend and family member for the password. THANKS! Again....I cannot say enough about the quality of these prints

The Lavaki Family

I told Lina that I would have this posted tonight....and so I did, just long after her and her BEAUTIFUL family have gone to bed, I'm sure. I had just over a jazzillion pictures that I loved, and so...weeee into the morning I kept telling myself..."JUST ONE MORE..juusst one more." Baby Oto just had his first birthday and what started as his birthday pictures, evolved into their first family pictures! This little guy is adored by both his parents. Isn't it obvious!  Sometimes pictures are posed and sometimes you catch moments in time, that show the real life and REAL love. Thank you again, for such a fun evening. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!

HAND IN THE COOKIE JAR

We had quite a weekend. A typical Sunday night for us is, a house full of family and food, food, food. As the night was winding down I hadn't seen my little guy for a few minutes and so I set out to find him. And it was RED handed...or rather BLACK handed I caught him, in the corner, with a fist full of Oreo Cookies. I don't know how he got them, but WHAT A MESS! If he wasn't so darn cute, I might have been upset, but WHO could be mad at that face!? Certainly NOT this Mum.

MASINA FAMILY PICTURES...(for real)

What can I say but WOW and THANK YOU! I am not immune to the joy and thrill of beautiful pictures of my family. Actually, I so rarely get to be in the pictures with my kids and husband, I might freak out with anticipation a little more than normal when we get pictures done. So YES, I know how uncomfortable it can be to be photographed, and YES I know how much you all hope that they turn out well. I asked (I would have begged) Natalie Norton to take our family pictures when she was in town. Natalie is a professional photographer on the North Shore of Hawaii (please go check her out), but more than that, Nat and Richie, her husband will ALWAYS be one of our Dearest friends. Most of my memories of my early days of marriage and motherhood are intertwined with the Nortons! She's the only person that has ever taken our family pictures and is my primary inspiration for picking up a camera! Thank you, Thank you, Thank You. I love you guys! Natalie, thank you for this beautiful gift, you are truly talented!

Masina Family Pictures...

A few weeks ago we had our family pictures taken! I'm so excited to see how they turned out...but until then...enjoy this "Simpsonesq" rendering of our family! I saw this on my sisters blog...and I am not a fan of the Simpson's  in the slightest....BUT I tell you what, me and the kids had a good time with this.  I was crackin' up at how dead on, my sister's family look-a-likes were.   I think Haven and I got our skin colors mixed up...but I must say,  my kids made me a quite attractive cartoon.  Sooo PLEASE.. if you do go and get made 2D ...let me know so I can check it out. Click here to become a Simpson.   THANKS RUTH AND DAVE for this one!

Teresa and Tui Auva'a

What an amazing Family! I don't think anyone who has ever planned and executed a wedding for themselves or for a loved one is likely to forget how much work, time, blood, sweat and tears go into this special day. I often find myself counting my blessings on a wedding shoot that my only responsibility is to push my camera button...over and over and over again. I was hired to cover just a few hours of the wedding events, and it wasn't until Teresa thanked me and mentioned that I was still shooting that I even realized I'd been there for much longer than I'd planned. I truly honestly deeply enjoy what I do.....I'd have kept going all night were it not our anniversary too! (BIG SIX BAYBBEE). I have to mention something that I found comment worthy about this wedding .  Everyone got along very well. Both the Brides family and the Grooms family seemed to hit it off, so much that it felt like they'd been family for years. THANK YOU AUVA'A's and CLARKS! It was a pleasure!
