Twilight post sleep...

I got home about 2:30a.m. and opted to shower instead of post.  Did I like it? It was good enough, I guess.  I wasn't expecting to love it, but hoping to like it.  I don't see how anyone who didn't read the book would follow the move well.  It moves too fast and the real issue is...The reason why everyone loves the book so much is the characters and how well they are developed and the movie is minus all character development.  Still It was fun, and sort of funny....in a way it wasn't supposed to be.  Exciting? Yes.  The buzz was unreal in our theater.  Ladies were squealing from the word go.  Did I say ladies??  I mean....I... was chirping and whooping, and clapping from the instant the theater commercials commenced.  You'd hear a rumble of giggles every time, they time they hit a line directly from the book and a rush of whispers when something wasn't from the book.
The Harry Potter trailer looked amazing and there was some freaky scary movie preview, that made me hide my face in my jacket.  Other than that...It was a great night.  Like I said, I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it.  Go see it if you like.  Don't expect much and enjoy some popcorn!

I am sorry you werent thrilled. I LOVED it. I loved Edwards smile, I loved that towards the end of the movie the way Edward and Bella looked at each other was perfect. Of course it could have been better, movies based on books can ALWAYS be better. But I did love it.(there were some cheesy parts though) Oh and the Harry Potter preview was AWESOME! I am sure I will be at that movie at midnight also. =O)
Love ya!!

I agree 100% with everything you said Omi!! So much was missing, but I thought that when I saw Keira Knightly in Pride and Prejudice too. Some books just have way too much in them to accurately portray on film. Oh well, at least Robert Pattinson was yummy to look at most of the time!

That could have been why I thought it was soo good, Every time Robert smiled and Kristen I wanted to jump through the screen and eat him up, shhh, dont tell Toby. =o)

Thought I'd check your blog today to get your take. Your thoughts pretty much sum up my feelings....didn't love it, didn't hate it. I went with the ladies from my book club and another girl who had never read the book. I thought it moved way too fast while she thought the movie was way too slow...haha. It probably didn't help that we were surrounded by a bunch of teenage girls who would giggle, etc. at the sight of Edward on screen.....however, that being said, I enjoyed looking at Edward..lol! I'm hoping that Twilight will make lots of $$$ so that the next film won't be so low budget...fingers crossed:-)

I liked the movie. Not as good as the book of course, but still enjoyed it! Edward did a good job, and Jacob was awkward looking especially with that hair-do! I'm hopping on the Team Emmett band wagon! :)

Hali...There were like..4 times when Edward's smile turned me into popcorn butter, FOR SURE....then I'd look to my right and my left to see if anyone caught my space cadet expression. BUT...no one did cause they were all goo-goo-gaa-gaa too.
Leah..so right! WIG.. so..WRONG...but you must be team Jacob, cause I thought he was just perfectly Jacob. I was focused on my team captain.
Kris...I couldn't even watch Keira Knightly and that movie. I made Nick take it right back to REDBOX. He didn't get it, but I was so bugged.
Raf...Twilight WILL make a ton of mula...cause I been twice and we will get a HIGH budget film. Ima go one more time just to make sure!
Las...Emmett was 100% 100% besides NOT having curly hair all 5 of his lines...NAILED EM!

I was entertained with the movie :) The theatre crowd helped that too with the hoots and hollaring that the crowd created when the Cullens first came on screen and various other parts. The humans (Bella's friends) were excellent. They were funny, witty and pulled their own weight well. Edward was played well, and of course he is gorgeous in the film (cough* not the premiere red carpet pics though---geez Robert). I wasn't 100% taken with Bella. The director needed to direct her better with her jerky movements she occationally had. Jacob was awesome.. he is SUPPOSED to be awkward. It was often described him as being so in the book. I LOVED Jasper... there arent a lot of Jasper fans out there.. But I loved this one. He had the pained expression I always imagined him having- the struggle and anguish of a poor guy forced into vegetarianism by his lovely Alice. Alice was great, but I know her character so much now due to the other books (as well as the other Cullens) that I felt robbed that the movie didn't go into detail more. This could have happened at the Cullens residence when she visited and learned all about Carlise and the Volturi... with the paintings.. but they didnt show that scene here.

I LOVED the baseball scene. They were all so relaxed, carefree.

And the ballet studio scene was cool. Little Alice takin' care o business...

But there is always the next show, New Moon!

And yes!! the budget SHOULD be bigger and we should get more quality next time. But for the moment, it satisfies.

I LOVED the ending with Victoria stalking the prom and walking away with a devilish grin. Woohooo... go with your bad self, girl.

Geez..now I am going to pine away until New Moon comes out..

hehehhehe
