The Healing Powers of Sprite.

Sprite is the "cure all", according to my dear husband.  The kids have got runny noses = "you should give them some Sprite."  The baby has a cough = "I think he needs some Sprite."  Itchy skin, pink eye, diaper rash, sore throat, and my all time favorite....Diarrhea.  I noticed for years he would throw out this preferred prescription at every possible ailment, but I never really commented on it.  Mostly because I had no idea what to do with "sprite being the cure for diarrhea."  I almost thought he was kidding , but NOPE, 100% serious.  I'm thinking there must be some family history of attempted Sprite healing to birth such logic!  I'll have to ask my sister-in-laws, to interview their husbands.  Anyway, I did set him straight to the fact that I have "heard", and I'm no Doctor here....that Sprite was a helpful with an upset stomach and I can see how that relates to some other maladies but I wouldn't take that to the bank.

So last night my youngest was up at 3a.m., screaming and crying, with a runny nose and cough... which directly translates in a barely coherent Nick and Omi passing the baby back and forth trying to figure out what might comfort him best.  He spit up on Nick , and on the way to the bath I got showered in a liquid, that belongs in the toilet, in the dark Nick cut himself on something and he was bleeding.  To say the least, it was quite a night.

This long night dragged into a long day for my poor baby.  I was picking up my daughter from school, and I got the "did you give him some sprite?" call.  I don't know what made me do it.  Maybe because I felt the few remaining strings of sanity slowly slipping, but I did it.  I directly purchased some Sprite, put it in a bottle, just like all good moms do...(riiiight.) and LO and BEHOLD......the baby got quiet, started to jabber and a few seconds later he was out like a light.  I'm not sure why I'm sharing this, aside from pure shock, and a little bit of confusion....but there you have it.  SPRITE may just be the cure for all things.  Try it.  Why not?

The funniest thing about this is that I grew up with my mom shoving sprite down when we were sick...and she's a nurse! ha..ha..ha...for some reason it made us feel better, too! So funny that you hubby says the same thing!!!

LOL This reminds me of my grandma. 7-up and Vix was the cure for all evil! hehe We'd get a scratch-she busts out the Vix. Fever, nausea, diarrhea? She's right there with some 7-up! Ahhh, good times, good times.

I think there's something going around. My daughter had the same thing last week! Oh and my hubby is the same way but with Tylenol, he thinks you can take tylenol for anything. Sometimes I have to tell him there's no cough suppressant in Tylenol, it's not gonna help your cough. :)
