The Norton Family.

It was the shortest and most memorable trip we've ever taken back to our Hawaii. There were many tears, many friends, and JOY...so. much. joy. The experience has moved me to the soul. I can not give their words justice, but both Natalie and Richie spoke from their broken hearts. They spoke of love and hope... and I felt both loved and hopeful. I felt the powerful, powerful love for their sons and their Heavenly Father. Natalie said that she knew it may seem backwards, but that it was the happiest day of her life. One of here sons was safe in the arms of God. Richie shared a few of the sacred moments they had before saying goodbye to Gavin. When Gavin was born he said it felt like heaven had touched the earth. He remarked that God was so good to deliver Gavin into Natalie's arms, only to ask for him right back, but that he knew God stands to turn right around to give Gavin back to them. FOREVER. The time came when they knew that the only thing keeping Gavin here were the prayers of the hundreds of thousands around the world. He was too lovely for this world. Gavin had completed his mission. His life had touched so many. It had opened so many hearts and renewed lost faith. They blessed him so that he would know that it was okay for him to return home to heaven. Again... heaven touched the earth. He spoke of promises he and Natalie made to each other, holding hands over their perfect son. Promises of how they were going to live their lives because of Gavin. And as only Richie could.. he made us laugh and cry and laugh again. We sang ALOHA 'OE as baby Gavin was taken to rest in the arms of his name sake.

Aloha 'oe, Aloha 'oe
E ke ononaha noho i ka lipo
One fond embrace,
a ho'i a'e au
Until we meet again

Thank you Omi, when Lenny died I remember NEEDING to see my family and close friends there. Even if I didn't get to talk to them just to get a glimpse of them being there lifted my spirits and strengthened me. I'm sure you did Natalie a world of good by being there for her in her time of need. Nothing lifts the soul more than a friend who cares. You did good Omi. =)
Love you!
